Royal Randwick Racecourse Hotel

The hotel will provide a first-class racing and hospitality experience across accommodation, health and wellness, in addition to food and beverage.

The upcoming hotel at Royal Randwick is set to elevate the overall racing experience, providing an exciting addition for spectators and the community. The six-storey hotel will offer approximately 190 rooms, stunning views of the racetrack, and exclusive facilities such as ‘The Jockey Club,’ featuring a private lounge and gaming amenities.

The proposal encompasses various amenities, including a restaurant, bar, terrace, gym, outdoor pool, and basement parking. With its strategic design, the hotel aims to enhance the overall appeal of Royal Randwick, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

In our role, we addressed the challenges posed by existing overland flow paths from Alison Road that traversed the site. Our civil engineering approach aimed to prevent any increase in flooding within the surrounding area, this was achieved through the design of a localised pit and pipe system, carefully recreating the original overland flow scenario.

This innovative solution will safeguard the hotel from flood risks and ensured minimal impact on the local precinct, demonstrating our commitment to both safety and environmental considerations in the design process.
