Sydney Port Logistics Park
WSce carried out a fire protection upgrade, encompassing the design and implementation of a new Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) system, the enhancement of multiple fire alarm panel locations, and improvements to the fire hydrant system.
Overview
The fire alarm panels at Sydney Port Logistics Park had become obsolete, which raised concerns about potential risks in case of a failure.Additionally, their fire hydrant system had begun to deteriorate, necessitating the replacement of valves affected by corrosion from the sea air. The facility featured 25 fire hydrant standpipes connected in a ring main, providing coverage to various areas such as the yard, workshops, admin building, and gatehouse
Our role
WSce carried out a fire protection upgrade, encompassing the design and implementation of a new Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) system, the enhancement of multiple fire alarm panel locations, and improvements to the fire hydrant system.
In the previous configuration, FIPs on the Quay Cranes and Rubber Tyre Gantries were decentralised. The upgraded panels are now integrated to relay information to the central main board in the gatehouse, for enhanced monitoring and central control. To address concerns regarding potential damage to the base plate flanges during the fire hydrant system replacement, our team worked closely with the facilities management team to develop a resilient and forward-thinking solution
