Sydney Superyacht Marina
As the largest dedicated Superyacht berthing facility in the Southern Hemisphere, Sydney Superyacht Marina in Rozelle provides extensive logistical support for visiting Superyachts. Originally established for the 2000 Olympic Games, the marina boasts world-class berthing facilities.
Overview
The project involved the construction of new boatshed facilities, including offices, function space, and a boatbuilding workshop. Two two-level buildings accommodate marine offices, a yacht club, ancillary restaurants, bars, and cafés. The project also incorporated a four-level car park with car lifts and at-grade parking for 219 spaces, including 24 spaces for the berths.
Our role
WSce was engaged in designing water and fire services. The waterfront site posed a design challenge, requiring integrating all facilities within a compact urban space. The design aimed to cater to the berthing needs of up to 24 vessels measuring 70 meters long while ensuring long-term flexibility for berthing and landside uses. To address water supply constraints, the boat storage and wash facility implemented electro-flocculation and rainwater reuse, eliminating the need for potable water. Compliance with fire safety regulations was achieved using a fire hydrant water storage tank and pumps with sufficient capacity.
