The Anzac Village

The Gallipoli Building, located in the heart of ANZAC Village, Narrabeen, caters to the needs of residents and guests of RSL LifeCare by offering facilities for recreation, social activities, and accommodation.

The 5-story building integrated 22 apartments, administrative offices, kitchen and dining areas, bars, function rooms, a cinema, library, and museum-quality displays. It features lower ground floor secured parking, external parking access roads, service upgrades, and stormwater retention systems.

The project involved the completion of various civil works, encompassing the construction of new access roads, upgrades to service facilities, and the implementation of stormwater detention and pollution control systems.

The hydraulic systems designed to support the project included components for sanitary plumbing and sewer drainage, grease trade waste drainage, rainwater and stormwater drainage, as well as domestic cold and hot water services, and natural gas services.

To safeguard the building, fire services systems were provided, incorporating fire hydrant and hose reel services. Addressing acoustic concerns in sensitive bedroom areas, there was a collaborative effort with the architect to overcome challenges related to suspended drainage and noise transference.

In line with a commitment to sustainability, rainwater recycling measures were implemented, leading to a significant reduction in water consumption from the municipal supply network. The project adhered to a preferred staged delivery methodology, taking into account site infrastructure considerations and the strategic placement of shared plant and equipment.

WSce has been involved in a significant portion of the redevelopment of the RSL ANZAC village for the past twenty years and were able to utilise our knowledge of the existing services to mitigate the risks associated with aged infrastructure and take advantage of the opportunities.
