Westmead Hospital Redevelopment
WSce created the brief for the tender documents for NSW Health, designed and delivered the fire and hydraulic, and wastewater systems.
Overview
NSW’s most significant health infrastructure project. Stage 1 included a new central acute services building, new operating theatres, surgical suites, state-of-the-art pharmacy and imaging, refurbishment of The Children’s Hospital and Westmead Hospital, and integration between the hospitals.
Our role
WSce undertook schematic designs of the hospital and worked on multiple stages of the development over several years. The redesign was one of three post-disaster facilities in NSW/ACT. It also contained a first-in-Australia specialised risk group 4 infectious disease unit where a specialised system was designed to treat wastewater and infection. WSce created the brief for the tender documents for NSW Health, designed and delivered the fire and hydraulic, and wastewater systems.
